Evaluate K-12 student projects with the National Science Teaching Association


On behalf of the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA), we would like to request your assistance in providing scientific expertise toward national competitions in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

TIME COMMITMENT

  • 6-15 Hours Total Evaluating Projects
  • Training Calls/Virtual Discussion

Before completing the application to be a judge, please check your schedule/calendar and confirm that you are available to be a judge during the judging event in its entirety, including the discussion meetings held on the Saturday.

Wednesday, February 5 7pm EST Web Based Judges Orientation Call (call will be recorded)
Wednesday, February 12 By 12pm EST Half of Round 1 Judges Scores are due
Wednesday, February 19 By 12pm EST Remaining Half of Round 1 Judges Scores are due
Wednesday, February 19 7pm EST Web Based Call with Video/Access to Round II Projects (call will be recorded)


Saturday, March 1 – Virtual Judging Discussion Calls – Participation in this discussion is required to process honoraria
*Note: Judging Assignments will come closer to the event date. Please hold the day on your calendar.

Educators Schedule
3:30pm – 5:00pm EST - K-3 all regions
10:45am – 12:15pm EST - 7-9 all regions
1:30pm – 3:00pm EST - 10-12 all regions
9:00am – 10:30am EST - 4-6 all regions

Note: Potential judges with a Ph.D. or Ed.D. have the opportunity for an in-person judging event held on Sunday, March 2 in Tysons, VA.
